These recycled leather feather earrings are made of brown nappa leather scrap and olive leather from a pair of pants and measure approximately 4.5″ in length – a simple design with freshwater pearls and faceted unakite beads from a strand I’ve had from over 20 years. Handmade 1″ silver hoops. Featherweight. I cut every feather by hand, and the leather fringe looks even better after being worn a couple of times!
They come standard with 1″ Argentium silver hoops (Argentium has a bit more silver content than sterling, and so tarnishes less. I use a very simple hoop design derived from a pair of “primitive” earrings I was once gifted – it clasps easily and securely through both standard and stretched piercings.
