Long, hand cut and hand sewn leather boho tassel necklace made from re-purposed leather. I used an upholstery sample and a vintage scrap from a leather clothing designer that was famous here in the 80s for this one! The centerpiece agate bead is beautiful, almost opalesque with its flashes of orange among the green. Additional touches of petrified wood and unakite, on a chunky bronze chain with lobster clasp.
All the leather, suede and ultrasuede I use in my designs comes from scraps, old clothing and accessories, generally one stop from a landfill, and is all cut by hand using tiny, sharp little scissors and a leather sewing needle. I source my metals and stones sustainably too, although many of the beads I use also come from a really old collection of my own, deconstructed jewelry, and estate sales.
No two of these necklaces will be EXACTLY alike: yours may vary VERY slightly from this photograph. Button is approximately 1.5″ in diameter, and necklace is between 18-24″ in length – hangs mid-chest (like a mala).
